Open in Paris since 2010, Choco-Story is a brilliant and unique experience. The Van Belle family shares their knowledge and passion for chocolate. We attended one of the “Fun 1h” workshops, that included a demonstration, tasting (YES) and a chance to make our own dipped orange straws, truffles, marshmallows, and nuts (see photos below). We were even allowed to take our little creations home! We sampled milk, dark, and white chocolate, as well as chocolates from all over the world. After the workshop we toured the history filled museum—who knew there was so much to know about chocolate! Needless to say we left with a new facts in our heads and chocolate in our tummies. Don’t miss the cute boutique at the end of the workshop/museum and find some chocolate treasures to bring back for others (and for yourself of course)
Insider Tip: Bring a bottle of water for the tasting/demonstration—you WILL get thirsty after all that chocolate!
Bonus: Real hot chocolate offered in different flavors at the end of the tour for 3€!
It wouldn’t be a proper blog post without a good ole movie reference and we have the perfect one: Chocolat featuring Johnny Depp, Juliette Binoche, and Judie Dench tells a fictional story of a woman who moves to a small French village and opens up a chocolate shop, against the town’s wishes. Grab a bag of chocolate and settle down to watch this romantic and irresistibly delicious movie (thank you Johnny Depp).
