RATATOUILLE

A rat named Remy dreams of becoming a great French chef despite his family’s wishes and the obvious problem of being a rat in a decidedly rodent-phobic profession.

When fate places Remy in the sewers of Paris, he finds himself ideally situated beneath a restaurant made famous by his culinary hero, Auguste Gusteau. The restaurant of the Chef Gousteau is actually  inspired by a famous French restaurant called la Tour d’Argent (Silver Tower) located 15 quai de la Tournelle in the 5th district.

Despite the apparent dangers of being an unlikely – and certainly unwanted – visitor in the kitchen of a fine French restaurant, Remy’s passion for cooking soon sets into motion a hilarious and exciting rat race that turns the culinary world of Paris upside down.

The display in front of which Remy the rat stops because he is horrified by the view of dead rats exists too! It is on Rue des Halles, in the 1st district and was founded in the 18th century.

All the scenes of the movie ‘Ratatouille’ takes place in Paris, featuring views from the rooftops of Paris, scenes on the river bank and on the Pont d’Arcole.
